We've got a new release of pollxt 1.24 - and with this versions (almost) all family members are back again. With pollXt 1.24.02 you can also get the most popular add-ons: the module and the bot. pollXT 1.24 is using ajax technology in the frontend and backend. In the frontend you're now able to process polls without reloading the whole page. E.g. after voting the results are displayed exactly where you've seen the poll before. The rest of the page remains the same. The ajax based backend allows intuitive and easy creation of questions and options for your polls, get it now from the download area and see yourself. |

The first public beta of pollxt 1.24 is available for download. PollXT 1.24 is a pure technology release, i.e. there's not a lot of new functionality, but the frontend was completely re-coded and is now fully ajax-based for improved user experience. The backend contains a new (also ajax based) interface to create and maintain questions and options. The basic ideas of pollXT 1.24 do not differ very much from those implemented in 1.30, however with 1.24 a smooth transition will be supported. |

As mentioned before, I'm incorporating pollXT 1.30beta functionality in pollXT 1.2x, instead of continuing development of pollXT 1.30. While doing this, I actually re-coded a lot of stuff. I really don't want to release an unstable version of pollXT 1.2x to the community, hence I'm looking for some people doing serious tests. If you want to test pollXT 2008.1 (working title ;-)) please let me know and I'll send you the latest build. |

As you probably noticed, development of 1.30 beta did not continue for a long time. The reason for that is simple: My time is limited and improving and maintaining 1.2x, enable it for Joomla 1.5, supporting the component in the forum etc... is very time consuming, hence I didn't have much time for 1.30 in the past. Additionally all the functional improvements and some of the bug fixes of 1.2x have to be applied to 1.30, too. This lead me to the conclusion that the revolution (1.30) will be replaced by a evolution of 1.2x. Step by step I'll incorporate the enhanced functionalities of 1.30 into 1.2x. 1.30 beta will still be available for download, however the forum is closed and there will be no updates to 1.30 beta.
For basically the same reasons I'll not provide a native Joomla 1.5 version of pollXT in the near future. Hope you understand that.
