Open_basedir breaks site 2 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
Almost every time that I install GuardXT on a site and run the wizard which places a php.ini file in the public_html directory and in the administrator directory, I get a page that says "No input file specified". It's always necessary to go into the php.ini files and remove the open_basedir statements in order to get either the administrative backend or the front end of the website back.

Because it happens to me almost every time I'm surprised there haven't been any other posts in the forum about this.

Hi Kevin,

that's a strange error message...Never heard of it. Is it created by Joomla or the WebServer? Do you have some piece of software runnig that uses files located outside of public HTML?

regards,

Oli

Re:Open_basedir breaks site (w solution) 2 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi

Had a similar problem in that I could do no uploads into Joomla (images, etc) which I eventually traced to the fact that our site (at least) was using the /tmp directory as the upload_tmp_dir (php paremater) but it seems that because this wasn't in open_basedir all the uploads were failing. Resolution was to add upload_tmp_dir into my local php.ini and point it to my own tmp dir which was in the open_basedir path.

i have 2 sepererate accounts on free hosts and i got this error when i used a pnp.ini from one site on the other. It must be something to do with the open_basedir as this was the only difference
